Description
This file includes two copies of a typed list, 'Informants to date (August 1955) in the Dialect Survey of England' (23 pp.), listing the names, addresses, age and date of birth of informants in Northumberland, Cumberland, Durham, Westmorland, Lancashire, Yorkshire, Cheshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Oxfordshire, Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Somerset, Essex, Hampshire, Kent, Surrey, Middlesex, London and Warwickshire; a printed base map from 'The Linguistic Atlas of England', with the names of some cities and towns marked in ms.; and a photocopy of the Illinois Institute of Technology Center for American English's 'Recordings of Standard English Pronunciation Questionnaire', taken from a fax. File arranged as found.
