Description

The 'Atlas Över Svensk Folkkultur' [Atlas of Swedish Folk Culture], produced by the Kungl. Gustav Adolf's Akademien [Royal Gustav Adolf's Academy], contains an introduction by the Editor, Sigurd Erixon, forty-four maps with symbols showing the distribution of, and variation in, answers given to each question (for the whole of Sweden), explanatory text with Swedish and English sub-headings, and accompanying drawings relating to aspects of Swedish working life (including farm implements, domestic utensils, building techniques and vernacular architecture). The atlas was published in Uddevalla under a grant from the Swedish government, and with the support of the Institutet för Folklivsforskning[Institute for Folk Life Research] at the Nordiska Museet [Nordic Museum] and Stockholms högskola[Stockholm University], together with the Svensk folklivsforskning[Swedish Society for Folk Life Research].
