The file contains a copy of Theo Brown and Stephen Dewar's pamphlet, 'Ghostly Gold and Goblin Tunes: Archaeological Apparitions and Traditions' (St. Peter Port: Toucan Press, 1969), 11 pp.; Malcolm Barker's article on the pirate's grave in the churchyard of Whitby Parish Church, extracted from 'The Ridings' (February-March 1965), pp. 15-16; Stottler K. Starr's article on the legends of Kilimanjaro, extracted from the 'East African Standard', Nairobi edition (1 December 1967); and mounted magazine cuttings from 'Country Life' and 'John Peel Jottings', on mermaids and their representation in monastic churches, the Virtuous Well at Trelleck (Monmouthshire), the Druid's Stones at Castlerigg (Cumbria) and the legend of the sacrifice of Ella, and the legend of the Green Man. File contents retained in original classification order, and chronologically within this.
