Description
Response book recording the answers given by informants during the Survey of English Dialect. It includes 9 sections that cover a range of topics relating to work, domestic and social life. Answers are recorded in the International Phonetic Alphabet. Interviews have been carried out by fieldworker Stanley Ellis. There are four informants for this response book - Jack Vickers, Bill Overton, Charlie King and Charlie Chapman. Their responses can be found in the following books: Jack Vickers - I, II, III Bill Overton - IV, VI Charlie King - V Charlie Chapman - VII, VIII, IX The index for the response book can be found with book I. Location, biographical or phonetic notes will be shown either in the final notes section or within the book they appear in.
