Wooden Yoke

Description

Young female displaying the use of a wooden yoke for carrying milk, Thornton Rust ( Wensleydale). The wooden yoke sits on her shoulders. Wooden pails, used to carry milk from hill pastures to the farm house, are suspended on a chain at each end of the yoke.
