Description
Response book recording the answers given by informants during the Survey of English Dialect. It includes 9 sections that cover a range of topics relating to work, domestic and social life. Answers are recorded in the International Phonetic Alphabet. Interviews have been carried out by fieldworker Peter Wright. There are three informants for this response book - John Wilfred Sutton (accompanied by Robert Wilton for book VII), Arthur Pettifer and Charles James Wood. Their responses can be found in the following books: John Wilfred Sutton - IV, VII, VIII, IX Arthur Pettifer - V Charles James Wood - VI, VII The index for the response book can be found with book I.
