Ruined Farmhouse with Adjoining Barns

Description

Ruins of stone farmhouse with adjoining barns at Roan Farm, Hurst ( North Yorkshire). Mounted on Photo File card with ms. notes on Hurst village, and catalogue details in the hand of Werner Kissling. The notes are based on information obtained from informant George Hodgson, who occupied the house until 1925. The photograph is accompanied by a mounted press cutting from the 'Yorkshire Evening Post' (mounted on a separate Photo File card), showing a photograph of the house, thatched and whitewashed, in 1927. Originally held in Photo File: Farms - Houses and Buildings.
