Alderman Hird Coins
Description
Presented anonymously to the University in 1957 by Horace Hird, the collection consists of Ancient British, sceattas, Anglo-Saxon, and early Medieval, all of which is published in Sylloge of Coins of the British Isles 21: Coins in Yorkshire Collections (1975). Additionally late medieval and early modern coins are included in the Collection.
