This file contains items relating to medicine and beliefs, including an ms. letter and typed anecdote from Mr. S. J. Tyrell of Rugby (Warwickshire), on the belief that reciting Bible text can stem bleeding (31 January 1962); a photocopy of an article by H. C. T. Smith and E. J. Eastham on an outbreak of hysterical symptoms among jazz band members at a gala in Hazlerigg(Tyne and Wear) in 1972, from 'The Lancet' (27 June 1973), pp. 956-958; and a mounted newspaper cutting from the 'Yorkshire Post' on Margaret Bunnett, the district nurse at Kettlewell (North Yorkshire), (17 December 1970).
