Conferences and Exhibitions (Papers and Photographs)
Description
This series contains correspondence files relating to the organisation of conferences run by the Institute of Dialect and Folk Life Studies, and black and white photographs displayed at associated and other exhibitions. The majority of the photographs (some with typed captions) illustrate aspects of English folk life, but there are also copies of some taken in Africa by overseas students studying at the Institute. Some of the photographs have been enlarged for the purpose of exhibition. The bulk of the items in this series were created between 1962 and 1986.
