Description
Response book recording the answers given by informants during the Survey of English Dialect. It includes 9 sections that cover a range of topics relating to work, domestic and social life. Answers are recorded in the International Phonetic Alphabet. Interviews have been carried out by fieldworker Stanley Ellis. There are two informants for this response book - Wilsey Dyson and Johnny Lockwood. Their responses can be found in the following books (not that book VIII has been cut off but was in fact completed by Mr Dyson): Wilsey Dyson - I, III, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII, IX Johnny Lockwood - II, III The index for the response book can be found with book I. Location, biographical or phonetic notes will be shown either in the final notes section or within the book they appear in.
